I'm no 3D printing pro, but I think because they began as pepakura, some of the 'seams' where it was intended to be glued together as paper aren't necessarily connected in the. I fiddled with them a bit in Autodesk Meshmixer and Netfabb Basic, scaling them and whatnot to my needs, but when I go to print them there are some gaps between pieces that I don't know how to fix.
